By accessing or using the Australian Fashion Institute website (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service.
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your use of our Site and any products or services offered through it, including online courses, sewing patterns, and related materials. By using this Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Use of Our Website
You agree to use the Site in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. You must not use the Site in any way that causes damage or impairs the availability or accessibility of the Site.
3. Products and Services
Order Confirmation: After you place an order, you will receive an email confirming your purchase. However, this email is only an acknowledgment, and the order is not binding until processed and shipped or access to digital products is granted.
Availability: All products and services are subject to availability. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue products or services at any time without notice.
Pricing: All prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD) and include applicable taxes. Prices may be subject to change at our discretion.

4. Account Registration
To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account details and for all activity under your account.
Account Security: You must notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access or use of your account.
5. Intellectual property & license to use
We offer generous creative freedom with our patterns, courses and content. You're welcome to use our patterns to create and sell garments, build a portfolio, or launch your own made-to-order business. You may even present the finished garments as your own original designs.
However, to protect the integrity of this course and our intellectual property, the following uses are strictly prohibited:
Sharing, forwarding, uploading or distributing the course videos or materials publicly, including on YouTube, social media, websites, file-sharing platforms, or group drives.
Granting access to the course or digital files to anyone else outside of your individual license.
Reselling, sub licensing, or distributing the patterns themselves. This includes digital files, printed versions, traced or modified versions, or any part of the pattern content.
Using the patterns or course materials to create your own sewing patterns, kits, or instructional content for sale or distribution.
We love supporting emerging designers and independent sewers, that’s why this license gives you freedom to create, sell, and grow. But the pattern files and course resources remain the protected property of Australian Fashion Institute, and must not be shared or sold in any form.
Copyright & ownership
All patterns, course materials, video tutorials, designs, drawings, documents, and other content (“materials”) available through this site remain the exclusive property of the Australian Fashion Institute.License to use - Sewing & garment production
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the provided patterns and materials to:Sew garments for yourself (personal use)
Sew garments to sell (commercial or made-to-order basis)
Build a portfolio or produce sample garments for clients
Breach & enforcement
Any unauthorised sharing, distribution, or public posting of the materials is a breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to:Revoke your licence and access to the relevant materials
Request removal or takedown of any shared content
Take further legal action if necessary to protect our intellectual property and business
Permitted garment use
This license allows you to use the patterns and materials to sew and sell garments, build your own business, or produce garments for clients, as long as the actual digital files, video content, or course materials remain private and are not shared without written permission.
6. Payment and Refunds
Payments must be made in full at the time of purchase.
Refund eligibility is outlined in our Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), including your rights to a refund, replacement, or repair for products that are faulty, not as described, or do not perform as expected.
7. Limitations of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Australian Fashion Institute is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site or any products or services. However, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or remedies you may have under the ACL.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Australian Fashion Institute from any claims or liabilities arising from your use of the Site, breach of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
9. Privacy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Australian Capital Territory.
